You cross the short distance between you and the ugly little man in an instance. He is out of shape and before he can react, a well-aimed punch connects with his jaw. He drops to the ground like a sack of potatoes. You grab some cable from one of the professor’s work tables and tie his hands and feet together.
“Thank you! Thank you!” the professor sobs. “Where’s Emily?
They are after my work! They were going to kill me,” he babbles.
“Emily is safe, professor! Who is this man?”
“A foreign agent. They want to steal my work and use it for
their own benefit. I suspect that they want to turn it into a weapon.”
“How can they do that? I thought you worked on stopping or
slowing the effects of climate change.”
“I designed technology where satellites can use to control
the weather, but if they turn that against their enemies. The destruction will
be catastrophic.”
The unconscious gunman stirs and lets out a small groan.
“More of them will be here soon! We must destroy my work
before they return. Such a shame!” the professor looks utterly defeated.
If you:
Listen to the
professor and destroy his work, go to chapter 5
