You retrieve the card that Emily has given you and dial the number.
“Yeah!” a female voice answers.
“Kate? Kate gave me your details. I may have some
information that you could be interested in,”
“OK… “
You tell Kate the story of what you have been trough and
that you have the memory stick. At the mention of the data, she immediately
interrupts you.
“You have the data on you? Where are you?”
“At the airport, the heliport to be more exact,”
“OK, we’ll meet you tomorrow in the city. Let us know where
you stay”
She hangs up the phone. You call a taxi to take you to a
hotel. You message Kate’s number with the details of the hotel and receive a
message back that they will meet you in the lobby the next morning.
After a good night’s rest you head for breakfast and then
head for the lobby. After waiting for about ten minutes, two men and a woman
walk into the lobby.
The woman walks straight towards you. You recognise her from
the island. “I’m Kate” she introduces herself. This is Mike and Jack. She sits
across from you at the table. Mike and Jack stands and keep an eye on the lobby
entrance.
“We need to get the data my friends in Geneva,” she
continues and get up. “No time to waste.”
You get up and follow her, Mike and Jack also in tow. She
crosses the street towards a black van. You get in after her in the back while
Mike and Jack take up the front seats.
Ties screech outside, coming from both the front and the
back of the van. Through the front window you can see several black SUVs have
pulled up, red and blue lights flashing. Several armed police officers in full
tactical gear jump out and quickly surround the car. The four of you are
shocked, frozen for a few seconds as the scene unfolds.
The side panel of the van slides open, revealing a smiling
agent Jones. “Well, isn’t this s surprise? Our agents were already following
Kate and her gang here. At least you are idealistic and did not try to sell the
data.”
You are all arrested and bundled into separate SUVs. You are
alone with Agent Jones in the back. He holds the memory stick between his
fingers. “Lost in the crash, huh? Never mind, we have all the data and the
professor, so my mission is complete. We are holding your friends as they are
wanted for other crimes, but we will let you go, but don’t ever talk about this
or contact the professor or Emily again.”
The van stops, Agent Jones gestures that it is time you get
out and you don’t wait for a second invitation.
After resting for three days you resume your duties as a
pilot, ecstatic to be in the air again. You never hear from the professor or
Emily again. Climate Peace seems to have disappeared with Kate. You wonder if
the data will be put to good use though.
The end.
