You phone Emily. “There are police all over the place,” She whispers. “I can’t talk long, they are about to interview us,”
“Listen Emily, we are coming back for the professor. Can you
get him to the parking garage?”
“I think so, I’ll message you when we’re there,” The phone
goes dead.
Mike turns the van back towards the hotel, taking a
different route. The entrance to the hotel parking is at the other end of the
entrance. There is no indication of the chaotic events that took place in the
front. Mike parks a block away. A tense few minutes pass and then your cell
phone beeps.
“We are waiting in the parking lot. Hurry!”
Mike drives into the underground parking. At the far end of
the parking you see Emily and the professor emerge from the stairs. Mike drives
up to them and you slide open the side panel door.
“I am coming with you,” Emily says and gets in after the
professor.
You slide the door closed and Mike drives off.
“Oh, oh!” Mike says. “You were followed,”
You look in the side mirror and see a police officer emerge
from the stairs. He quickly gets on his radio.
Mike drives faster and exits the garage.
He heads for the university.
