You run towards the small village. The heat is unbearable and forces you to a walking pace. Sweat drench your clothes. You wish you took some water from the plane, but you don’t want to run back and risk being trapped in the plane when the men return.
It takes you about forty minutes to cover the distance to
the village. Honey coloured, double storey buildings are irregularly spaced
lining the single tarred road running through the village. The streets are
almost deserted, most of the people are probably indoors, escaping the worst of
the day’s heat.
Off to the side of the road, camels are drinking from a
trough next to a well. An overweight man, dressed in a white robe and an intricately
patterned red shemagh is tending the camels.
Further down the road you can see a battered white and green
SUV with police lights, parked in front of building with a green sign
containing some Arabic script.
If you:
Approach the man
tending the camels, go to chapter 87
Go to the police
station, go to chapter 88
