“I’m not leaving you, Kate.”
“You are a fool! If you get arrested we will lose access to
the data. Now go!”
You look at Kate and the anxious face of the man in the open
van door. You get up and sprint towards the van. The sounds of the sirens
announce the imminent arrival of the police. As you get into the van you see
the first police car round the corner.
The driver of the van pulls, pushing the van to its limits. The
sudden acceleration catches you by surprise and throws the two of you into the
van’s back doors. You manage to get up and make your way to the front.
“I’m Mike,” the driver introduces himself while looking into
the side mirror. “That’s Jack,” he nods towards the other man taking a seat in
the passenger side. You cling onto the seats as Mike makes a sharp turn to the
right.
“Your hesitation may have ruined everything! Police are
chasing us!” Mike barely misses a car as he speeds down the busy street.
You notice that the sound of the sires have not diminished,
in fact, you can make out several sirens signalling the police cars in pursuit.
Mike takes a few more sharp turns, but the police cars
remains close behind the van.
“Oh no!” Mike exclaims.
You look forward. Two police cars on each side of the street
is blocking a portion of it. The glint of metal from the spike trap between
them.
Mike has not time to react. The van hits the steel spike at
full speed. He loses control of the van and slams into the side of a building.
You have no seat belt to protect you from the impact. You do
not survive the crash. The memory stick with its decryption key is damaged
beyond repair.
The end.
